Dear Rooster

Dear Diary…

So mum decided to get a pet rooster! She’s wanted one ever since we moved here.

So imagine her surprise when a rooster comes into our yard one day and sets up camp in one of our trees. :O

Of course mum has to start feeding it so it keeps coming back *face palm* Now the rooster has made our front yard it’s home. It sleeps, eats and shits in our trees and bushes like it lives here.

Doesn’t sound so bad right? With the exception that it obviously belongs to one of the neighbors that is! This little rooster has even started coming inside our house if one of the kids leave the front door open by just a tiny crack.
Thus – the lounge room as become a bathroom for this pest. It’s like gaining a toddler that keeps ripping their nappy off!

If that wasn’t enough to put me off, this little pest is learning how to find his vocal cords… he finds them at 4am every morning, 4:30am, 5am, 6am, 7:30am, 8:30am and 9am. UGH!

My 9 year old is so fascinated by this rooster, he talks to it, laughs at it and follow it around like a lost puppy. Seems to be the highlight of his day when his sister gets home from school. “The rooster came inside to play with me today” Tia will shoot him a look as if to say ‘Dam kid that’s the only excitement you had today?, You need to get a life mate’

Believe me I’ve thought about calling the council on this pest but i would be breaking my mum and son’s heart. The neighbors will eventually notice their beloved rooster is missing?? right??? RIGHT?????

Till next time Love Tanibook xx
